CEO & Co-Founder

Cathy Wang

LIC

“Build structures that work, especially when life doesn't.”

Cathy Wang specializes in insurance-based structuring, tax integration and long-term planning for individuals, families and business owners.

She began her career in the personal injury industry, where she saw firsthand how financial plans perform under real-life stress: disability claims, injury settlements and the moments when a plan either holds together or falls apart. That experience shaped everything about how she works today. What she learned wasn't about products or portfolios. It was that fragmented solutions, no matter how good individually, will always fall short of a connected one.

Her philosophy is simple. Wealth should be designed as a system, not assembled piece by piece.

Her work focuses on bringing structure to how wealth is built and managed: treating insurance as a core financial asset, aligning tax strategies with long-term intent and ensuring wealth can transfer effectively across generations.

She is also an experienced leader and mentor, having developed hundreds of advisors and led top-performing teams nationally, including over 15 MDRT qualifiers. She is a consistent MDRT and Court of the Table (COT) qualifier.

She co-founded Everly Wealth to build something the industry rarely offers: a team of advisors with complementary strengths, working as one to deliver a genuinely complete financial solution to every client they serve.

Equally central to that vision is how those advisors are built. At Everly, development is intentional. Every advisor is given the training, mentorship and tools to reach their full potential, because a great team is only as strong as the individuals within it.

Beyond the team, her vision is to shape Everly into a modern family office built on integration, serving established high-net-worth families, business owners and emerging entrepreneurs navigating each stage of their financial journey. By combining deep expertise with AI-driven systems and content, she is creating a practice model that scales intelligently: personalized in delivery, distinctive in identity and built for the long term.

She is a licensed Life Insurance Consultant (LIC), with experience in international life insurance structuring and cross-border wealth planning, and is currently pursuing CLU and TEP designations, further strengthening her expertise in complex structuring and intergenerational planning. Her work often involves coordinating across jurisdictions, aligning financial structures with both local and international considerations.

To this day, she continues to work alongside legal and medical professionals on personal injury cases, giving her a unique perspective on how financial, legal and health realities intersect, particularly during periods of vulnerability.

Her focus is clear: to build structures that work, especially when life doesn't.

Co-Founder

Ming Chen

CFA

“Wealth is not built by avoiding volatility, but by avoiding irreversible mistakes.”

Ming Chen, CFA, has managed client portfolios since 2009, more than fifteen years. A graduate of the Schulich School of Business, he began his career during the aftermath of the global financial crisis, an experience that shaped his disciplined, risk-aware approach to investing.

He believes that building lasting wealth is not simply about chasing returns, but about navigating market cycles with clarity and discipline. In his view, most investors struggle not because of a lack of opportunities, but because of the emotional forces of fear and greed that often lead to poor decisions over time.

His investment philosophy is grounded in value investing and macro awareness, drawing inspiration from thinkers such as Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Howard Marks, Ray Dalio, George Soros, Peter Lynch and Joel Tillinghast. He integrates multiple schools of thought to construct portfolios that are adaptive across different economic environments.

Known to many as “Teacher Ming,” he has been actively promoting financial education since 2018 through his platform Xiaomingcaishang (小明财商), publishing blogs, hosting seminars and producing hundreds of educational videos for the Chinese community in Canada.

Beyond investment and insurance planning, he is also licensed in real estate and has demonstrated strong market insight, including identifying the peak of the Greater Toronto Area housing market in early 2022.

He believes that every major asset class, real estate, equities and insurance, plays a role within the broader market cycle, and that successful wealth management lies in finding the right balance at each stage of life.

He has helped hundreds of families build and preserve wealth across generations. Many of his long-term clients, who began working with him in their 30s, are now approaching retirement with confidence after more than a decade of disciplined planning.

At the core of his practice is a simple belief: wealth is not built by avoiding volatility, but by avoiding irreversible mistakes. With the right design and enough time, results will follow.

He also believes that managing money well is ultimately about removing financial stress, so clients can reclaim their time and focus on what truly matters. Because in the end, life is not measured by numbers on a statement, but by the quality of experiences we create.

You only live once. Wealth should serve your life, not the other way around.
